Choice

Specific Prompt:

Write a story using only dialogue. No descriptions. No narrations. Just dialogue. There has to be a beginning, middle, and end -- not to mention hefty conflict to make it compelling. The story has to be told through the characters words and it has to mean something. Think you can handle it? I wouldn't mind reading it, if you could.

Fan Fiction Prompts:

Being Human prompt: Mitchell/Annie. There's always been some tension there. Heck, even the BBC's Being Human Blog mentions it. So, write a very tension-filled moment. Don't make them kiss. Don't make them have any sexual relations of any kind. Tension is the key here. Make the story ooze tension. (And totally link me.)

Skins prompt: Effy. Pure Effy. Dig into her psyche and make her make an important choice.

Torchwood prompt: Jack/Gwen. I always found Gwen's sudden pregnancy in series three a bit suspicious. It's like there's a little something MORE too it. It was just too random, you know? Might Jack somehow be involved?

Write a story including the phrase:

"This is a horrible mess. It's time to make a choice."

Implications

Specific Prompt:

I want you to travel through time and space (but not to the world of the Mighty Boosh, because that would be copyright infringement, which is a no-no). Instead, I want you to create your own universe. Think of what inspires you. What are you interested in? Fairies, outer space, talking trees? Whatever it is, use it to your advantage and think of something interesting. Create a world. That's your challenge. Create a rich, unique, and interesting world. It could be a long term project, ideally. Half-ass attempts rarely come off as unique or interesting.

Fan fic Prompts:

Mighty Boosh: Yes, now I'm telling you to travel to the world of the Mighty Boosh (since it's fanfic and not for profit). Howard and Vince come into contact with vampires. Be as cracktastic as possible, please.

Battlestar Galactica: AU. What would've happened if Starbuck never died? Would they ever have found Earth? Think of all the implications of what would've been and create an alternate universe based on that.

Being Human: Mitchell/Annie (my new lovely ship). Mitchell and Annie can't die (they're both already dead). What are the implications of that? Unlike George, they're essentially immortal (barring any stakes through the heart or another one of those Death Doors). How does their immortality connect them?

Write a story including the phrase:

"Well, isn't this a right loading of f*cking piss?" (Forgive the asterisks. I'm unsure of Blogger's policy on swearwords and I don't want my blog taken down over something silly.)

Secrets

Specific Prompt:

Think of the career you would most hate to work in. Think hard. Thought about it yet? Good. Now, write a story where your main character is in that career and LOVES it. Write why they love it. Open your mind and try to think of good things about that career, even if it doesn't appeal to it. For instance, if you're a creative person, maybe your character is an accountant who loves crunching numbers. Be inventive. Oh and -- give them a plot and a story.

Fanfiction Prompts:

Being Human: Write your bestest Mitchell/Annie story. (I adore them!) Make it tender, without being fluffy. That's the way I see them on the show. (And I sound like a dictator or something, but yeah -- totally, I would love to read a sweet Annie and Mitchell story.)

Heroes: Sylar/Claire. Smut. Somehow include the word "lick" (because I like it so much) three times in the story. The catch? It still has to make sense. It's not cracky smut. Also, include the word throb twice. Why? Because if you can do it without being repetitive, it's a good exercise/challenge.

Star Trek: Spock/Uhura smut. Yes, that's right. SMUT. In the movie, you could sense the smoldering passion beneath the surface. You, brave fanfic writer, must bring that passion forth. (And totally link me through an email or else a comment.)

Write a story including the phrase:

"I thought I would faint if I looked at him again."

Zombie Chicken Award!

As I mentioned in my last post, I got a second award that day: Al at Publish or Perish awarded me the Zombie Chicken Award.

The Details:

The blogger who receives this award believes in the Tao of the zombie chicken – excellence, grace and persistence in all situations, even in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. These amazing bloggers regularly produce content so remarkable that their readers would brave a raving pack of zombie chickens just to be able to read their inspiring words. As a recipient of this world-renowned award, you now have the task of passing it on to at least 5 other worthy bloggers. Do not risk the wrath of the zombie chickens by choosing unwisely or not choosing at all.

My Nominations Are:

Andrew at Musings and Mullings.

Rebecca Emrich at Living a Life of Writing (even though she's already received this award from someone else, I believe she deserves it all over again).

Cindy R. Wilson

Rebecca Emrich at Living a Life of Writing has nominated me for the Kreativ Award! I'm very excited as this is the first award Prompt Romp has won (the next post will be about the second). If you haven't already done so, I highly recommend that you check out Rebecca's blog. There, she posts in-depth about the life of writers; it's a great, wonderful, and thought-provoking read.

So, now it's time for me to do some nominating.

7. If I had to say what influences me in respect to creativity the most, I'd say life -- particularly that which touches me and makes me think.

I wrote a drabble!

It's a Star Wars Obidala drabble. Exactly 100 words. I'm rather proud of it (though I didn't edit it, so we'll see how proud I am when I look at it in the morning). I meant to use one of my own prompts I posted here recently, but I diverged.

And without further ado...here it is at my Livejournal.

And never fear. More prompts will follow in the morning, when I'm more awake. (I've had a busy week this week. I turned 21! And my youngest sister turned 2! And my dad turned 51! So yeah, lots of birthdays. =D)
